This compact detector gets wiser with use. After a few drive-bys, the Escort learns to recognize spurious signals so you get fewer false alarms; you can also manually block out any it misses. Annoyingly, the 9500 starts bleating a full 600 feet ahead of known red-light cameras—but then fails to remind you about the shutter-fuzz until you're in the middle of the intersection.
