Lion Air Group has released an update statement reminding passengers of the smoking ban aboard aeroplanes, including details on why the ban was brought in. This prohibition covers all types of cigarettes, including e-cigarettes. Smoking on an aircraft entails a potential sentence of five years in jail or a fine of Rp 2.5 billion and can jeopardise flight safety.
In accordance with Aviation Law, the Ministry of Transportation in Indonesia prohibits smoking on aeroplanes. Article 419 of the law specifies the disallowance of smoking on aeroplanes and the commitment for travellers to conform to the standard.
Additionally, the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) established the international standard for the prohibition of smoking on aeroplanes, which many nations have adopted.
Smoking has a negative impact on health, both for those who smoke and those around them. Numerous harmful chemicals in cigarettes can be inhaled by onboard passengers. Openness to tobacco smoke can build the gamble of respiratory sicknesses, like asthma or bronchitis.
Smoking on board can also increase the likelihood of a fire. Fuel can also become more flammable in the cabin of an aeroplane if the air is dry. Controlling and putting out fires on board in an emergency can be difficult and could endanger the lives of all passengers and cabin crew.
The ventilation system in commercial aircraft is designed to regulate cabin airflow. All passengers benefit from improved air quality as a result of the prohibition on smoking aboard.
Smoke from cigarettes causes the cabin air to become un-sterile and has an effect on the aircraft’s ventilation system.
Substances containing nicotine will also have an effect on the plane’s system. Over time, sticky plaque will form, which can make it hard for the circulatory system to work properly.
Tobacco smoke can upset different travellers who don’t smoke as the smell of cigarettes can be unpleasant and can irritate the nose, eyes and throat. Smoking is prohibited on board to ensure that all passengers can travel comfortably.
When it comes to enforcing the smoking ban on board, airlines play a crucial role. Smoking is strictly prohibited on Lion Air Group flights, and passengers who break the rules face punishment.
Additionally, the airline urged passengers to quit smoking to preserve their health, safety, and comfort while travelling. These measures are taken to provide all plane passengers with a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment.
The purpose of this tool, which is a crucial component of the aircraft security system, is to promptly notify passengers and cabin crew of an emergency.
This smoke detector is linked to a warning system that sends alerts to the cabin crew through a control panel in the cockpit and plays alarms throughout the interior of the aircraft. This considerably facilitates the ability of the cabin crew to recognise and respond to emergency circumstances involving the presence of smoke within the aircraft.
